One goal cSINO has strived towards is integrating computational thinking into FOSS lessons in a coherent manner, meaning that the computational thinking gets progressively more complex and challenging as students move through lessons and grade levels. In order to support this goal, cSINO participants worked to collaboratively design learning progressions for six computational thinking aspects:
- Problem Decomposition
- Algorithms
- Conditional Logic
- Pattern Recognition
- Testing and Debugging
- Abstraction
These learning progressions are intended to support teachers’ integration of computational thinking into FOSS lessons throughout the remaining lesson design cycle and will continue to be revised as they are tested out by the design team.
We appreciate any feedback you would like to provide on the progressions. Please complete this form to leave comments.
